How much time will we need to record?

This depends on a lot of factors, for example, how well rehearsed you are (see how to prepare for the studio), the complexity of the arrangements, the number and type of different instruments and parts being recorded and whether you are looking for a release quality recording or a good demo recording.
As a very basic guide we would estimate that a band recording four songs should allow three days for demo quality and five or more days for release quality. Acoustic or vocal sessions have a quicker set up and mix time.
